Joe Wicks 'is at the centre of a £5M bidding war with Nike and Adidas'

He has been dubbed the nations PE teacher amid the coronavirus lockdown by offering live streamed classes every morning.

Now Joe Wicks, 33, is reportedly in the centre of a ‘£5 million bidding war’ between sports brands Nike and Adidas who are both keen to sponsor the star. 

A source told the : ‘Joe often wears Nike in his videos and now they want to tap him up — but they’re competing with Adidas, who have also been impressed by his influence.

‘Both brands have an affinity with his healthy living ethos and are desperate for Joe to endorse them.’ 

It is common for Nike to do celebrity endorsements with sports personalities such as Michael Jordan and Rory McIlroy.

For Adidas, the usual option is A-list celebrity names such as Kylie Jenner and Kanye West.

However, reportedly both sports brands are keen to endorse a UK ambassador and feel Joe would be the perfect fit. 

The source added: ‘He knows his worth and needs to get this deal bang on the money. He’s usually very careful about sponsorship but as he already wears products from both brands it makes sense.’ 

MailOnline have reached out to Joe’s representatives for comment. 

Since the release of his first book in 2015, Joe is thought to have accumulated around £14.5 million.

It comes after Joe sparked concern among fans on Thursday morning as he returned to his workouts just five days after undergoing surgery.

He went under the knife last Saturday but revealed on Wednesday that he was ‘feeling much better’ and made his comeback the next morning.

A host of fans took to Twitter to respond to a message from a social media user, who penned: ‘Is anyone else worrying about Joe Wicks’ wrist?’, leading to other viewers claiming he was not taking enough time to heal.

The esteemed star initially underwent minor surgery for his injured hand in March after falling from his bike, days after launching his hugely popular daily P.E lessons.

Despite having spent last weekend in hospital after being left in excruciating pain, the star was back on screens on Thursday — sparking concern among fans.

Concerned social media users penned: ‘Yes! Dude, you’re going to lose that arm if you don’t slow down… I really am… Yes. It will heal im sure. I’m not a Dr or anyone of any knowledge but I’m sure it needs resting to heal quickly…
